THE COLLABORATION
Again, the two brands put their thinking caps on and came out with a true collector's item, taking inspiration from Baracuta's elite and iconic G9 Harrington Jacket! When you have Baracuta’s expertise in craftsmanship and tradition and mix that together with Watanabe's unparalleled creative flair and knowledge of design - which have been instrumental in bringing this project to life through an insane fusion of British heritage and avant-garde style which are both innovative and distinctive.
WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS G9?
As always Watanabe's contribution to the project has been noteworthy. By modifying the jacket and adding a hood, he has transformed the classic G9 Harrington Jacket into a new, oversized garb that is both striking and daring. The hood is so out there as it has been realised in a total contrasting colour – bright orange – comparing this to the navy body, it makes for an eye-catching detail that sets this piece apart from those that walked before it.
It doesn’t stop there! Other changes can be seen in the G9 Hood like the colour of the zip and the addition of drawstrings– coming in a noticeable white colour. You thought that was all? Along the inside of the zip, a windbreaker flap can be found in the same bright orange as the hood. And Finally, the signature Baracuta two button dog ear collar has been totally replaced, making room for the innovative hood!
WHAT REMAINED THE SAME?
Not to fret, many of Baracuta's iconic features remain intact, like the umbrella back yoke, the raglan sleeves, the notable slanted pockets, the internal pocket – did you think we’d get rid of the handiest pocket to keep your bits in like your phone?! - the ribbed cuffs and waistband and of course, Baracuta’s signature Fraser Tartan lining adding a touch of authenticity and heritage to the jacket.
