BARBOUR X BARACUTA: SPIN THE NORTHERN BEAT

Two Northern icons reunite for the third time. This Autumn Winter 2025, Barbour and Baracuta return with a fresh interpretation of British heritage, one inspired by the soulful rhythm of the North. Rooted in music, movement, and self-expression, the new collection celebrates the Northern Soul scene: a cultural movement that transformed the dance floors of 1970s Britain and continues to inspire generations today.

Fronted by Goya Gumbani and Normski, two cultural tastemakers who embody the connection between style and sound, the campaign captures an atmosphere of authenticity and rhythm. Shot at Jumbi, Peckham by Normski himself, the visuals merge sound system energy with timeless tailoring, perfectly encapsulating the collaboration’s message: heritage never stands still.

A Fusion of Craftsmanship and Culture
Founded in Manchester in 1937, Baracuta built its reputation crafting weatherproof outerwear with unmistakable style, the legendary G9 Harrington Jacket being the most iconic example. Just 150 miles away, in South Shields, Barbour has been creating its signature waxed jackets since 1894, outfitting mariners, countryside dwellers, and style enthusiasts alike.
Together, these two Northern powerhouses share more than a postcode — they share a philosophy: durability, authenticity, and craftsmanship. With the AW25 capsule, that philosophy takes on a soulful new tone. Every garment channels the vibrancy of Northern Soul, from the energy of all-night dance halls to the sharp silhouettes that defined the movement.
As Baracuta explains, “This collection bridges generations, capturing the essence of Northern Soul while translating it into a contemporary expression of identity and belonging.”

Spin the Northern Beat
From Manchester to South Shields, from the dance floors of Wigan Casino to the streets of Peckham, this collaboration is a dialogue between past and present, music and movement, North and South.
With craftsmanship at its core and music in its soul, Barbour x Baracuta AW25 delivers more than outerwear, it’s a celebration of those who move to their own rhythm.

Hero Styles: Built to Move, Designed to Last
The Barbour x Baracuta AW25 collection expands beyond outerwear to include ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, all designed for versatility and self-expression. The range features new fabrications, bold graphics, and signature waxed finishes that blur the line between function and fashion.

Porton Wax Jacket
A refined take on Baracuta’s iconic G9 Harrington, reimagined in Barbour’s durable 8oz waxed cotton. With raglan sleeves, the signature umbrella back yoke, and a hybrid Fraser x Barbour Tartan lining, it’s the perfect balance of practicality and heritage charm.

• Badged Porton Wax Jacket
The Porton gets a Northern Soul spin. Embroidered patches inspired by vintage club insignias and record labels bring a subcultural edge to a classic design — a nod to both brands’ roots in British street style.

• Tyne Wax Coat

A new silhouette for the season, inspired by Baracuta’s G10 and Barbour’s archival Tyne Coat. This three-quarter-length design combines set-in sleeves with a raglan back and cord collar. Available in Archive Olive, Navy, and Sandstone, it embodies timeless utility and Northern refinement.

Vinyl & All-Nighter Tees
A tribute to the culture of vinyl and dance. The Vinyl Tee features bold back prints inspired by spinning records and dual branding, while the All-Nighter Tee celebrates the euphoric energy of Northern Soul’s legendary late-night sessions.

Northern Crew Sweatshirt
Crafted from 100% cotton fleece, the Northern Crew captures laid-back soul style with subtle patch details inspired by Northern club culture.

• Tote Bag

The finishing touch: a Tote Bag decorated with the same Northern Soul-inspired badges seen across the range.
