Baracuta is pleased to announce the launch of the first capsule born in partnership with BYBORRE. BYBORRE is a textile innovation studio based in Amsterdam that works at the borders of material development and aesthetics with its team specialized in knitted textiles. The SS21 collection starts from the values shared by the two masters the two masters of protective, fit-for-purpose garments. On the one hand, the Dutch company known for research its textile innovations and on the other, the historical and iconographic historical meaning of Baracuta. Together, they developed a collection with a strong message made by two revolutionary words, responsibility, and technical innovation. An unprecedented technologically advanced synergy which gave birth to 3 models in a limited number of jackets, made of recycled material ingredients with ultralight technology. Diving into the details of the garments we can discover a reinterpretation of the cult model of Baracuta, the Harrington Jacket G9, accompanied by the companion from the looser fit "A", G4, and a Baracuta Reversible Vest.
The main feature of the garments is a bespoke, premium 100% recycled polyester material, executed in BYBORRE’s signature AO2 knit structure and Baracuta’s iconic tartan motif. The yarn composition was carefully considered for the outerwear occasion. by using Sinterama’s NewlifeTM yarns, a fit-for-purpose textile was established, whilst following a strong brief to build on sustainable synthetic material innovation. The unique nature of the production approach of the spring summer 2021 collection is a great satisfaction for the project team. BYBORRE X BARACUTA team work also stands out for its attention to the local area and to Made in Italy by redefining the standards of technical avant-garde. In fact, each of the garments holds two fundamental elements: the supply of certified Italian recycled material and the Italian industrial tradition. Production comes from the historic Biella area that is a hidden Italian excellence in the field of plastic recycling into high-performance technical materials. The result is a fully traceable collection of the final product, precisely 100% Made in Italy. The garments created by the collaboration BYBORRE X BARACUTA, will be available from March 18 on the site Baracuta.com and in store.
